The Workplace

South West Scania Water Board is looking for an Action Coordinator for water protection measures. The purpose is to improve the status of watercourses based on the EU Water Framework Directive and national environmental quality objectives.

South West Scania Water Board was formed in 2013 and consists of the municipalities of Vellinge, Trelleborg, and Skurup. The work area covers 15 watercourses and catchment areas in the three municipalities.

The Water Board is governed and led by a board and a working group with politicians and civil servants from the three municipalities. In addition to the current position, there is the Water Board Coordinator, who has overall responsibility for the Water Board's operations and economy.

The position is located in Trelleborg at the Municipal Services for Community Development, and the head of the administrative unit is responsible for the work environment. Trelleborg Municipality offers both health care allowances and the opportunity to exchange holiday pay for extra holiday days. Communication opportunities are good; the workplace is less than a ten-minute walk from the bus and Pågatåg station.

Job Responsibilities

Your main task is to locate landowners and tenants around the watercourses to find and develop suitable and functional action solutions together with them that improve the quality of the watercourses. This may involve, for example, creating wetlands, meandering, and two-stage ditches. Together with the Water Board Coordinator, you will drive and implement concrete water protection measures. The projects are based on the proactive activities, which is the prioritized task in your assignment.

You will report your work to both the board and the working group.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant education in, for example, natural sciences, environmental science, or another direction that the employer considers equivalent. It is desirable that you have experience from water protection work, the EU Water Directive, and project management.

To get the most out of your role as Action Coordinator, you should be proactive, strategic, and driving. In your role, you work independently and will also work closely with the Water Board Coordinator. Working as an Action Coordinator means you are given significant individual responsibility in daily work.

You thrive working together with others as well as working independently. You find it inspiring and fun to meet new people. You are good at building new relationships, have a solution-oriented approach, and are unpretentious. The assignment requires good communication skills, so you have a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.

The position involves travel within the area, and a Category B driver's license is therefore a requirement, as parts of the work take place in areas where public transport is limited.
